Pepper Rabbit, a young duo from California, make creative slices of indie-pop, brimming with unique instrumentation. Banjo, horns, bells and piano accompany many tracks on the consistenly excellent Shakes/Clicks EPs. The songs bury deep into your head as verses slowly expand, then explode in dizzying climaxes of sound. There's a lot going on here; Beatles-esque melodies, interesting textures, varied instrumentation and, not least of all, exceptionally well-constructed songs. Highly recommended.
